How to use Searchira

1. Open Searchira

Click the Searchira icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the extension popup.

2. Set up your Jira connection

Open the Searchira settings and enter your Jira Cloud URL, account email address, and API token. Click Save Jira connection when all fields are complete.

Create an API token

Sign in to your Atlassian account and open Atlassian API tokens.

• Create a new API token.
• Enter a label for the token.
• Copy the generated token.
• Paste it into the API token field in Searchira.
• Click Save Jira connection.

3. Search for Jira issues

Enter a search term in the Searchira popup to find Jira issues quickly.

• Search by issue key, for example SRCH-123.
• Search by numeric issue ID.
• Search by title or keywords.
• Optionally include issue content and descriptions in your search.
• Your last search remains available when you reopen Searchira.

4. Filter and sort results

Use filters and sorting to narrow down your Jira search results.

• Filter by project.
• Filter by status.
• Filter by issue type.
• Filter by priority.
• Sort by relevance, creation date, or last update.

5. Open Jira issues

Click a search result or pinned issue to open it directly in Jira.

6. Pin important issues

Use Quick Access pins to keep frequently used Jira issues easy to reach.

• Pin issues directly from Searchira.
• Keep important issues available in the Quick Access section.
• Reorder pinned issues using drag and drop.
• Use Alt + ↑ or Alt + ↓ to reorder a focused pin using the keyboard.
• Unpin an issue when you no longer need it in Quick Access.

7. Pin issues directly from Jira

Searchira can display a compact pin button directly on Jira issue pages. Use it to pin or unpin the currently opened issue without opening the Searchira popup.

You can enable or disable this button in the Searchira settings.

8. Copy ticket information

Use the copy actions to quickly reuse Jira issue information.

• Copy the issue key together with its Jira URL.
• Copy the issue key together with the issue title.
• Paste the copied information into chats, emails, tickets, or documentation.

9. Change Searchira settings

Open the settings to manage your Jira connection and Searchira preferences.

• Change your Jira server, account email, or API token.
• Save connection changes with Save Jira connection.
• Reset unsaved connection changes if needed.
• Choose your preferred interface language.
• Enable or disable the Jira page pin button.
